Tampa invites residents to participate in twice-a-decade tree study

by The 100 Companies

The city of Tampa is changing things up a bit for its fourth tree canopy study by inviting residents to participate.

The resident component is a new addition to the study that analyzes Tampa’s canopy.

The study, a joint venture with USF, looks at “overall canopy coverage, reports any changes, provides a detailed description of the forest structure and composition, and estimates the economic and ecological values of the city of Tampa’s urban forest.”

The confidential survey asks how residents care for and experience trees in one of the world’s largest urban forests.  Tampa began analyzing its tree canopy in 2006.
