Electrical engineering major drives automation at national lab internship

by The 100 Companies

Florida Polytechnic University student Josh Alletto is serving an internship at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois, a federally funded research and development center owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Alletto is working on four different projects, one involving proposals the lab receives from large organizations around the world who want to use its supercomputer. There, he and lab engineers are turning the long process of sorting through more than 150 50-page proposals into one that takes just minutes.

He is also working with lab staff on construction of an autonomous robot that will help with processes across campus.
