‘Shark Tank’-style pitch competition for local nonprofits

Fast Pitch award

Nonprofits can become more financially sustainable when they undertake social enterprise initiatives, which combine a nonprofit’s social mission with the market-driven approach of a business venture.

To highlight this niche, 10 Tampa Bay-area nonprofits will compete for a chance to win $60,000 for their social enterprise efforts during Social Venture Partners Tampa Bay’s Fast Pitch competition Thursday, Oct. 25 at The Palladium in St. Petersburg.

Nonprofit leaders, who’ve gone through a six-week accelerator program, will give a three-minute rapid-fire presentation about their idea. Their goal: show how that idea will have a significant impact.
