Nonprofits Pitch ‘Social Enterprises’

by

As nonprofits strive to become financially sustainable, the concept of “social enterprise” – combining the social mission of a nonprofit with the market-driven approach of a business – is gaining popularity.

Social Venture Partners, in partnership with Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and The University of Tampa, is helping 13 Tampa Bay nonprofits develop their own viable social enterprises.

The nonprofits will make their pitches (in under three minutes) and vie for $60,000 in grants and prizes during the aptly named Fast Pitch Competition on Dec. 1 at The University of Tampa’s Plant Hall. Tickets to the competition are $20.
