Holland & Knight and Thompson & Knight have completed their merger, and the combined firm will now operate under the Holland & Knight name.
Holland & Knight managing partner Steven Sonberg will lead the newly joined firms, and Thompson & Knight managing partner Mark Sloan will serve as a vice chair of the firm’s senior management group.
The combined firm will have about 1,600 lawyers and other professionals across 30 offices. The merger officially took effect on Aug. 1.
Through the merger, the firm will expand practice areas including litigation; corporate mergers and acquisitions and private equity; energy, oil and gas; real estate; finance; and tax.
