Tampa City Council Chair Joseph Citro hit a patch of bad luck in 2015, before he was elected to City Council, that caused him to wrack up about $20,000 in credit card charges, debt that lead Bank of America to file a lawsuit and eventually getting part of his Council wages garnished, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
At issue were three water leaks at Citro’s Bayshore condo that required extensive remodeling and temporary relocation to a rental house, all of which brought out the plastic.
As of Dec. 30, more than $11,000 had been withheld from his Council paychecks.
