We’ve all had those days where you insert your key in the ignition, turn it over, and … nothing. While a simple jump-start might help, it’s often difficult to pin down the cause of the issue.
Is it the battery? Look for indicators such as a lit check engine light, slow engine crank, “ticking” sound when starting the engine, or leakage or swelling around the battery case.
Is it the alternator? The engine cutting off shortly after starting your vehicle, a growling sound, flickering headlights, dimming dash lights, and a burning rubber smell are all signs of a failing alternator.
