Pinellas County’s first School-to-Work program has launched to prepare students for life after graduation and match them with mentors who offer support, guidance and friendship.
The program, a partnership between USAmeriBank and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, empowers students. For the next two years, 25 students from St. Petersburg’s Northeast High will meet with their mentors and attend seminars on topics like resume writing.
Students aren’t the only ones benefiting from the program. Mentors are hearing the millennial perspective and learning about youth culture and how to navigate tech gadgets. Consider becoming a partner or volunteer.
