Hillsborough deputies peacefully resolve stand-off with man who shot at family

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office peacefully resolved an hours-long negotiation with a man barricaded inside his home after shooting at his family.

Deputies responded last week to a call in Plant City regarding a man who barricaded himself in his home after shooting at family following bad news he received about his health.

Throughout the night, deputies worked to make contact while understanding the man was still armed, but could not convince the man to leave his house.

The next day, SWAT and Crisis Negotiation units were able to de-escalate the situation and get the man safely to a hospital.
