Janelle Irwin Taylor, who served the last few years as a senior editor at Florida Politics, is stepping away from journalism to run communications for newly sworn-in St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch.
Irwin Taylor was one of Florida Politics Publisher Peter Schorsch’s most trusted field marshals, reporting on city and county governments across the bay area and all things related to politics in the Sunshine State.
In her career, she’s worked as WMNF’s senior reporter, reported for the Tampa Bay Business Journal and hosted her own call-in political talk show.
Now, she’ll be working as communications director with the city.
