Kathy Castor votes to end forced arbitration with labor bill

Congresswoman Kathy Castor joined 334 other representatives on Monday to pass legislation that would end forced arbitration in lawsuits surrounding sexual assault and harassment.

Forced arbitration, which prohibits workers from suing an employer if they experience sexual harassment on the job, had bipartisan support.

“By passing the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act, we’ve taken bipartisan action to void these unconscionable clauses and allow victims to bring their stories out of the shadows,” Castor said. “This is another important step towards fostering workplaces in Florida and across the nation that are safe and equitable for all.”
