USF women’s soccer team holds on to AAC regular-season title

The University of South Florida women’s soccer team clinched to its fifth consecutive American Athletic Conference regular-season title by defeating Temple last week 2-0.

The accomplishment gives USF a first-round bye in the conference tournament and hosting rights for the semifinals and finals. USF received a first-round bye and begin play 7 p.m. Thursday against SMU at Corbett Stadium.

SMU defeated the Bulls 2-0 on Oct. 10. USF is 11-3-1 overall and has not allowed a goal in its last three games.

The tournament champion will earn the league’s automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship.
