Rowdies hit new record in goal-blocking time

by The 100 Companies

The Rowdies are in the record books thanks to their 2-0 road victory over Atlanta United 2.

Even more impressive, it was the team’s eighth-consecutive shutout and extended their streak without allowing a goal to 801 minutes. That beats the previous record of 759 minutes.

They are in first place in the United Soccer League’s Atlantic Division by five points over Pittsburgh. The Rowdies’ 52 total points are just one point behind USL overall leader Phoenix.

The second of three consecutive road games for the Rowdies is Saturday at Hartford Athletic. They don’t return home until Oct. 2 against Charleston.
