After a summer of optimism that the University of South Florida football team would be much improved this season, the Bulls discovered Thursday just how far they have to go.
USF was pummeled 45-0 by North Carolina State in a game that was never competitive.
“When you’re playing a good team, you gotta execute,” USF Head Coach Jeff Scott said. “We just didn’t execute. They’re talented but we’re a lot better than we played tonight. And I know we’ll play better here moving forward.”
It doesn’t get easier. USF’s next game is Sept. 11 at home against the Florida Gators.
