Hillsborough High School’s Erriyon Knighton is one win away from an Olympic gold medal.

Knighton, who is just 17 years old and about to start his senior year at Hillsborough, finished first Tuesday in his semifinal heat of the men’s 200-meter run.

Knighton turned in a time of 20.02 seconds. He is the youngest U.S. Olympian this year and also the youngest U.S. track athlete since Jim Ryun in 1964.

He also won his first heat Monday in 20.55 seconds.

The gold medal race is Wednesday at 8:55 a.m. EDT.

Knighton already has an endorsement deal with Adidas.
