USF grapples with shifting athletic conferences

by The 100 Companies

What would Oklahoma and Texas leaving the Big 12 Conference to join the SEC mean for the University of South Florida? Maybe a lot.

USF has made no secret of its desire to join one of the so-called “Power 5” athletic conferences. That may be possible, but perhaps not in the way the Bulls envisioned.

As the Big 12 grapples with losing its two strongest members by 2025, speculation is USF’s American Athletic Conference could expand by picking off several members from the suddenly weakened Big 12.

Speculation focused on Oklahoma State, Baylor, TCU and, perhaps, Iowa State joining the AAC.
