The U.S. Olympic softball team is back in the gold medal game following a 2-1 win over Japan.
A walk-off home run by former Florida Gator Kelsey Stewart completed the comeback win and gave the U.S. revenge for a loss to Japan in the gold medal game of the 2008 Olympics.
The U.S. completed group play with a 5-0 record while Japan fell to 4-1. Both squads were assured of advancing to the championship game before Monday’s game, but by winning the U.S. will have the final at-bat if needed.
The game is set for Tuesday.
