Who says Tampa Bay athletes aren’t tough?
The Tampa Bay Times reported that Bucs quarterback Tom Brady played last season with a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee. Brady had surgery he described as “pretty serious” in February to repair the injury, believed to be suffered during his final season in New England.
For the Lightning, Victor Hedman, Nikita Kucherov, Alex Killorn, Blake Coleman and Ryan McDonagh all battled significant injuries en route to the Stanley Cup final.
Kucherov played the Stanley Cup series with a broken rib. Hedman had a torn knee meniscus that required post-season surgery.
