Bucs sign No. 1 draft pick for linebacker

by The 100 Companies

The Buccaneers signed linebacker Joe Tyron, their No. 1 draft pick, to the standard four-year rookie deal. The Tampa Bay Times reported Tyron’s deal is worth $11.171 million, with a signing bonus of $5,484,540.

Tryon opted out of Washington’s 2020 season because of COVID-19 pandemic. As a sophomore in 2019, he had 12.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks.

The Bucs return all 22 starters from their Super Bowl team, so Tyron can learn the ropes from the veterans on hand.

Third-round offensive lineman Robert Hainsey is the Bucs’ last unsigned rookie. The Bucs open training camp on July 24.
