Lightning Captain Steven Stamkos sold his waterfront Davis Island home Monday for $16 million. The sale is the third-highest in Hillsborough County so far in 2021, beat only by Derek Jeter’s $22.5 million sale of his Davis Islands mansion and the $16.7 million purchase of an estate in Thonotosassa.
Stamkos paid $3.85 million for the vacant lot at 78 Martinique Ave. in 2017, and built it into a 8,516-square-foot mansion. The buyers are listed as John and Kathy Shields.
Now, Stamkos is on the hunt for a new home in the area, since his contract with the Bolts runs through 2024.
