Laurel Lee lands GOP nod in CD 15 contest

Laurel Lee proved victorious in one of the most closely watched Primary races in Florida, winning her party’s nomination in Florida’s 15th Congressional District.

Lee dominated the vote in Lee and Pasco counties as state Sen. Kelli Stargel won her home territory of Polk County.

Lee led with 42% of the vote, while Stargel had 28%. In third place was state Rep. Jackie Toledo, with 12%. Behind her was former diplomat Demetries Grimes with 10% of the vote and veteran KevinMacMcGovern with 9%.

She’ll now face  Alan Cohn in the General Election after he took the Democratic nomination.
