U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist is applauding the House passage of the Don Young Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022, bipartisan legislation to provide the United States Coast Guard with necessary resources.
The bill, which passed the House by a vote of 378-46, authorizes record funding levels of $12.8 billion for FY 2022 and $13.9 billion for FY 2023 to modernize the Coast Guard, improve the Coast Guard’s shore infrastructure and take care of Coast Guard families.
The bill also includes a Crist-supported proposal to establish a Center of Expertise for Marine Environmental Response comprised of Coast Guard, NOAA and academics.
