U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, a Tampa Democrat, announced last week the Florida Department of Transportation is set to receive an $18 million infrastructure grant from the Biden Administration for the Tampa Heights Mobility Corridor.
The Tampa Heights Mobility Corridor is a project to connect Downtown Tampa with the Tampa Heights and Seminole Heights neighborhoods with “complete streets.” Complete streets are multi-use roadways designed to have equitable access for pedestrians, motorists and public transportation.
The grant is part of the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability & Equity grant program and is separate from the Bipartisan Infrastructure deal signed into law last week.
