U.S. Rep. Val Demings and Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried are set to speak at the Hillsborough County Democratic Party’s annual fundraising event on Dec. 11.
The two prominent Democrats are both running for office in 2022 – Demings is challenging Sen. Marco Rubio and Fried is running for the Governor’s seat.
The fundraiser, known as the Kennedy-King Gala, will be held at the Tampa Convention Center as the organization returns to in-person events. It is the local party’s largest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds going to the party’s Victory Fund.
Tickets start at $125 and range from up to $25,000.
