New Year’s Resolutions for Pet Owners

by

Many people make New Year’s resolutions to incorporate healthy changes into their lives. Pet owners can also resolve to start new habits to make 2017 their pets’ happiest, healthiest year yet.

– Schedule a wellness exam. Pets should see a veterinarian annually for heartworm and parasite tests, to receive vaccinations and to check overall health.

– Get your pets microchips and I.D. tags. If they already have them, make sure the information is up to date.

– Measure your pets’ food to ensure you’re feeding them the right amount. Overweight animals can face health issues like diabetes, arthritis, heart disease and cancer.
