Bike Share Program Rolls Out

by

The classic urban dilemma is a trip that’s too far to walk, but too short to drive. Now St. Petersburg residents have rental bicycles as an option for short trips.

St. Petersburg’s Coast Bike Share program launched with 100 bicycles at 10 hubs along the waterfront and Central Avenue corridor, and it plans to expand to 300 bicycles and 30 stations early next year. Costs range from $8/hour to $99 for annual plans.

St. Petersburg is the second local city to start a bike-share program. Tampa launched the program in early 2015, and quickly surpassed 10,000 members.
