Explore Florida’s gold-medal winners in July

Add this to the list of little-known but awesome Florida facts: We’re the only state to have been awarded three gold medals by the National Recreation and Park Association in recognition of superior quality management of our state parks and for innovative approaches taken in recreation services.

Florida’s 175 state parks are jewels in our state’s crown of diverse environments, and to encourage residents and visitors to enjoy the great outdoors, Gov. Ron DeSantis has proclaimed July as Recreation and Parks Month.

Many parks and trails throughout the state are offering opportunities for family-friendly activities and special events.
