Summer break safety

summer break safety

During summer break, you may have more kids at home or have them for longer periods. Distractions and stressful situations can spell danger for kids. You can prevent accidents from happening to your family.

Close supervision is the best way to prevent drownings. Children often drown silently, in as little as 20 seconds. Designate a “water watcher” to supervise kids near water.

Take breaks to safely relieve stress. It’s normal for babies to cry. If you need to, place the baby safely in the crib and take a minute to calm down. Use resources like 2-1-1 for support.
