Brewer sells grain to help food bank

St. Petersburg-based brewer 3 Daughters Brewing has found an innovative way to turn trash into treasure. They are selling spent grain, a brewing byproduct, to farmers and donating the profits to the St. Petersburg Free Clinic’s Food Bank.

The beer-for-good arrangement supports the Free Clinic’s programs, which feed approximately 2,500 households in mid-to-south Pinellas County each month. The Free Clinic is now able to purchase food at cost from US Foods when certain items aren’t available through donations.

The brewer’s innovative program is saving waste, while also giving back to the St. Petersburg community.
