Pinellas Partners for Pets, a partnership between Pinellas County Animal Services, SPCA Tampa Bay, Humane Society of Pinellas, Pet Pal Animal Shelter and Friends of Strays, recently shared some good news from the 2018 Pinellas County Animal Report.

The report, which focuses on trends related to Pinellas County’s homeless pets, included a number of encouraging statistics. Since 2012, the county has seen:

– 34% drop in owner surrenders.

– 16% increase in adoptions.

– 47% decrease in shelter euthanasia.

Collaboration between partners and local shelters, trap-neuter-vaccinate-release (TNVR) efforts and more promotion of adoptions are all contributing to these positive trends.
