Continuing a year of new adventures, a friend and I set out to try rock climbing at Vertical Ventures in St. Petersburg.
After a quick lesson on how to use the equipment, we set off to tackle the courses. This was an experiment in trusting your equipment, and it isn’t for anyone with a fear of heights. I conquered the easiest course, but I’m far from being ready for the advanced climbing area called “The Pit.”
All in all, quite a lot of fun, at a reasonable cost: An introductory class is $25, which includes a two-week trial membership.
