Keep Kids Safe From Heatstroke in the Car

by

Every year a parent or caregiver inadvertently forgets a child in a vehicle and tragedy strikes. Not counting vehicle crashes, heatstroke is the leading cause of death in automobiles for children under age 14.

Prevent an accidental tragedy with these crucial safety tips:

– Create reminders. Put your purse or cellphone in the backseat, or place a ribbon on the driver’s door handle.

– Never leave a child alone in the car. Car temperatures can increase by as much as 20 degrees in just 10 minutes.

– Take action. Call 9-1-1 if you see a child left unattended in a car.
