Protect Your Pets From Heartworm

by

It’s important to give your pet a monthly parasite preventative to protect against heartworm, which can cause serious and potentially fatal damage to your pet’s organs.

Mosquitoes spread heartworm, so it can affect pets anywhere. Prevention is especially important in warmer climates like Florida where we see mosquitoes year-round.

Heartworm can affect pets’ hearts, lungs and pulmonary vessels. Treating heartworm infection is expensive and hard on a dog’s body. What’s more, there is no approved treatment for cats, which makes prevention key. It’s important to have your pets tested for heartworm annually, and talk to your veterinarian about prevention.
