Stepping into art, light and shadows

by
Ya La'Ford

Ya La’ford’s art installation at Tempus Projects in Seminole Heights is an experience involving light, shapes and positive and negative spaces. The local artist, who has exhibited in Europe, Asia and Africa, is known for geometric visuals, but this is unlike anything before.

Her latest project, “Penumbra: Corridor of Ambience,” features light, shadows and geometric patterns covering the walls, floor, ceiling and even visitors. This exhibition is art you must experience to fully understand. As one walks through the gallery, your body changes the light patterns.

Tempus Projects, at 4636 N Florida Ave., hosts the exhibition through May 3.
