The Cross-Bay Ferry reached a new milestone during the week of April 3 when its 300,000th rider since the service launched in 2016 boarded.
The ferry is also on track to once again set a new single-season ridership record, surpassing 62,130 riders from the 2021-22 season. The current season ends Sunday, May 28.
Cross-Bay Ferry leaders are hoping the consistent ridership increases will help make the case for permanent ferry service, which connects downtown St. Pete to downtown Tampa.
Currently service runs fall through spring, with four trips on Wednesdays and Thursdays, eight on Fridays and Saturdays and six on Sundays.
