Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, City Council Vice Chair Guido Maniscalco, Council member Orlando Gudes and others will join to light Christmas displays on N. Franklin St. between E. Royal St. and Fortune St. Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Born from Downtown Riverfront Neighborhood Association President Kim Lively-Puleo, the display has for the last several years revived a Tampa tradition dating back nearly 100 years.
“Kim is a believer that light illuminates the way when things seem dark and bleak,” said Victor DiMaio, who remembers his mom taking him downtown for Christmas when she worked for the famous Haber’s Department Store.
