The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is out with a video that spotlights its specialty units training, which often includes joint training sessions between teams.
Recently, the agency’s underwater recovery team and aviation team partnered on a scenario, practicing critical skills deploying rescuers into waterways from a helicopter. The capability is especially important during hurricane season, when floods can increase the need for water rescues.
The 20-second video, set to the type of music one might hear in a “Mission Impossible” movie, showcases HCSO divers jumping from a helicopter into the water, simulating what a real-life water rescue might look like.
