The City of Tampa has released an interesting collection of photographs that capture everyday life in Tampa from 1940 to 1990.
Photographed by Rose Rutigliano Weekley and Joseph Scolaro, the Tampa Photo Supply Collection highlights common but meaningful community events, such as graduations from Plant and Hillsborough high schools and family celebrations like birthday parties.
Images are being digitized and added to Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative’s digital collection, where the public can see them. The archive also includes the Burgert Brothers Collection, a pictorial record of commercial, residential and social growth from the late 1800s to the early 1960s.
