Richard and Melanie Gonzmart, of the 1905 Family of Restaurants, have donated $1 million to the Tampa General Hospital Cancer Institute’s Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Program.
The gift secures naming rights for the couple. It will help patients age 15 and up requiring elevated services and a holistic treatment approach.
The program supports diagnoses, as well as barriers to care such as childcare expenses, fertility preservation and transportation.
Richard Gonzmart is a former Florida Health Science Center board member. The Gonzmarts have long invested in cancer research.
Richard Gonzmart lost a childhood friend to cancer at just 12 years old.
