Operation Summer Shield is a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office initiative to combat human trafficking.
Led by Sheriff Chad Chronister, the program over 102 days of summer led to the arrest of 148 individuals. Perhaps more importantly, seven victims were rescued and countless others will be spared being a victim as a result of taking these criminals off the streets.
The operation reflects the Sheriff’s commitment to safeguarding the community and holding traffickers accountable. Since the squad’s inception in June 2021, it has led to 793 arrests and the recovery of 42 victims who now can put their lives back together.
