Harnessing the power of images in protests

Signs of Resistance exhibition

World-renowned graphic designer Bonnie Siegler, principal and founder of design studio Eight and a Half who has worked with Oprah Winfrey and former President Barack Obama, explores the role of visual expression in democracy in her new book “Signs of Resistance: A Visual History of Protest in America.”

It’s a timely exploration of ways people have used strong visual elements to advocate for change – from the American Revolution and Civil Rights Movement to the Women’s March.

Join us March 29 at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg as MFA Executive Director Kristen Shepherd engages in dialogue with Siegler.
