Bucs lose assistant coach to Jaguars

by The 100 Companies

Buccaneers inside linebackers coach Mike Caldwell has accepted the job as defensive coordinator with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars plan no announcements until the entire coaching staff is finalized, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo first reported.

Caldwell and new Jags Coach Doug Pedersen played together in Philadelphia in 1999 and later coached on the Eagles’ staff under Andy Reid.

Caldwell has an extensive resume as a defensive assistant coach, but this will be the first time he has served as a coordinator. He’ll have his work cut out with his new team. The Jaguars finished 20th last season in total defense.
