Barbecue and brews for a cause

by
Pig Jig lager

Tampa Pig Jig started as a friendly backyard barbecue competition, but has grown into an event that draws more than 6,000 people together through friendly competition, food, drinks and live music.

Better yet, the Tampa Pig Jig on Oct. 20 is all for a great cause. The event raises funds for NephCure Kidney International in the fight against focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a debilitating form of kidney disease.

Chris Young headlines the event, which starts at 1 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Tampa. General admission is $40, VIP is $125 and children under 12 are free.
