The Green Thumb Festival in St. Petersburg is known as one of the best horticulture festivals in Florida.
The two-day event, at Walter Fuller Park the weekend of April 28-29, attracts thousands of horticultural enthusiasts and offers more than 1,000 tree saplings for $5 each to celebrate Arbor Day.
The event was established in 1986 by the St. Petersburg Parks Department to secure a Tree City USA award from the Arbor Day Foundation. The city has received the award every year since.
The free, family-friendly event also includes a recycling rally, complimentary mulch and arborist advice.
