The University of South Florida is one step closer to an on-campus football stadium, with a planning committee announcing its site proposal at a recent Board of Trustees meeting.

The area recommended for further study is the Sycamore Fields site on the east side of the campus. That location is currently used for intramural sports.

The university also announced a $5 million gift for the project from longtime university philanthropists Frank and Carol Morsani.

“The impact of the University of South Florida’s on-campus stadium will be transformational in ways that extend well beyond football,” USF Interim President Rhea Law said.
