The Florida Board of Governors has confirmed Rhea Law as the University of South Florida’s interim president.

The USF Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Law to the position on Aug. 2. Law previously served as chair of the university’s BOT. She graduated from USF and earned a law degree from Stetson University.

“Rhea brings a wealth of experience to USF, both academically and in ties to the USF community,” said Syd Kitson, chair of the BOG, which oversees the State University System.

Last week, the BOT established a 15-member presidential search committee. Law will not apply for the permanent presidential position.
