On a recent Thursday, I checked for Friday or Saturday availability to go from downtown St. Pete to Tampa in the early evening. Sold out. No wonder it’s so popular – a round trip between the Vinoy Basin in St. Petersburg to Channelside in Tampa is just $16.
The fact that I couldn’t get a ticket is actually good news: People in the area will use public transportation if it goes where they want to go, is affordable and runs at convenient times.
