TECO, Meals on Wheels deliver hurricane kits to seniors

Tampa Electric has partnered with Meals on Wheels of Tampa to assemble and deliver 1,200 hurricane preparedness kits to seniors and homebound residents across Tampa Bay.

Distributed during the June 21 Produce on Wheels (POW!) delivery event, each kit includes five days of shelf-stable food, drinking water, a first aid kit, flashlight, county shelter details, emergency contacts and TECO’s “Get Ready” brochure – provided in both English and Spanish.

This annual initiative helps ensure vulnerable residents stay safe during hurricane season.

Hurricane season began June 1 and continues through October, with the busiest part of the season in September and October.
