by The 100 Companies

Tampa Electric (TECO) and Hillsborough Community College (HCC) are teaming up to launch the Electrical Line Workers Training Program. The partners celebrated the new program this week with a ribbon cutting at HCC’s Brandon campus.

The program is designed to provide students fundamental knowledge and skills to pursue careers in the electric utility industry.

TECO has pledged more than $300,000 annually for scholarships and equipment for the program. Students who complete the program will have the chance to interview with TECO for entry-level positions.

The program is expected to begin Sept. 5 and will run through Dec. 13. Tuition is $6,500.
