Easter egg-citement has retail sales hopping, according to the latest survey from the National Retail Federation.
Spending this year is forecasted to hit a new peak – an average of $192.01 per person. The survey found 81% of Americans will celebrate Easter this year. State officials are urging celebrants to shop local and “find it in Florida.”
“Florida shoppers are enthusiastic about getting into the spirit of the Easter holiday,” said Scott Shalley, president and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation.
The survey predicts celebrants will collectively drop 15% more than last year’s Easter spending, with the most going toward food.
